Salman Khan Issued Notice By Delhi HC In Personality Rights Case (X)
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice to Bollywood Actor Salman Khan after a petition was filed by China-based AI voice-generation platform.
The petition, which has been filed by a China based voice module AI firm, seeks to quash High Court's interim order of December 11 on personality rights.
The firm is claiming that generating voice modules is their work and arguing that the restrictions affect its lawful business of creating voice models.
The China-based AI voice-generation platform wants the December order to be overturned so the firm can continue its work without legal hurdles.
That's why the firm have sought a vacation of an earlier injunction order provided by Delhi High Court.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court had restrained the use of the actor's voice and identity.
Earlier, Salman Khan have moved the Delhi High Court seeking protection of personality and publicity rights amid increasing misuse of his identity online.
On December 11, 2025, the Delhi High Court granted an interim injunction in his favour, directing social media intermediaries and other platforms to remove or restrict content that exploited his persona without permission.
The order aimed at opposing deepfake content generated, AI voices, fake advertisements using his fame.
The actor had asked the High Court to issue directions to restrain several identified and unidentified (John Doe) defendants from using his name, image, voice, likeness, dialogues, mannerisms, or any other elements that form part of his public persona.
Many other celebrities, like Aishwarya Rai, her husband Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Karan Johar and many others have moved the Delhi HC for protection of personality rights.
The Hight Court has asked Salman Khan to respond to the notice within four weeks. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for February 27.
